Life and career
[edit]Inconis began playing the piano at the age of seven, and shortly afterwards took up the bassoon. He studied bassoon with Orlando Pittau, at the Cagliari Conservatory, where he graduated with highest honors.
He later studied with Karl Öhlberger (I bassoon Wiener Philharmoniker), Iwein D’Haese (I bassoon Orchestre National de Belgique), Michel Denize (I bassoon Orchestre de Chanbre de Paris) and Jean-Claude Montac (Opera National de Paris).
While still a student, he won the national audition for the job of Second and Principal Bassoon in the Orchestra of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, then in France and Austria.
Inconis's numerous accolades include awards and fellowships from the Jeunesses Musicales International 1978, 1980, 1983 and 1984; Internationale Orchesterwochen (Austria) 1982; Internationaal Muziekkamp, van Jeugd en Muziek België 1983; International Chamber Orchestra a Rovigno (Croazia), Koper (Slovenia) and Porec (Croazia) 1984.
He has served as bassoonist of the Teatro Lirico Orchestra in Cagliari (1979–1984). He later served as bassoonist and contrabassoonist with the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra[1] until his retirement in 2021. He is currently professor of bassoon at the "Arcangelo Corelli" Conservatory in Messina.[2][3]
